Green Tea Soap with Grapeseed Oil

Introduction

I wanted a soap recipe that could highlight the beautiful color of the grapeseed oil. The introduction of our Green Tea Fragrance Oil seemed to be just the perfect combination. To insure a good green color, I also used a small amount of the Mint Green Color.

Ingredients

    8 oz wt Grapeseed Oil
    20 oz wt Palm Oil
16 oz wt Palm Kernel Oil
    20 oz wt Sunflower Oil

    24 oz water
8.65 oz wt sodium hydroxide (lye)
3 bags Stash Moroccan Mint Green_Tea
1 fl oz Green Tea Fragrance Oil
    0.25 cc Mint Green Color

Instructions

  1. Heat water to a boil and steep the tea bags in the water until the tea solution has cooled to room temperature. Remove and discard the tea bags.
  2. Add sodium hydroxide to tea solutions.
  3. Melt oils and add Mint Green Color to the oil mixture.
  4. Combine oils and lye solution and mix until a light trace has been reached.
  5. Add 1 fl oz Green Tea Fragrance Oil and mix well.
  6. Pour into molds.
