After Swim Hair Conditioner
| |
|
This special hair conditioner is a great daily hair conditioner. The conditioner is good for treating the hair before entering the pool, and a good followup after the pool. The conditioner is not too heavy, so it works well for daily swimmers.

Rosemary Oleoresin, 5 percent
| |
|
Commonly known as ROE, Rosemary Oil Extract.
Rosemary Oleoresin is a oil soluble antioxidant. This means it protects vulnerable oils from oxidation, which causes the smell of rancid oil. Use just like Vitamin E Acetate or Vitamin E Natural, in products which need or benefit from antioxidants. This very dark fluid has a sharp, herbaceous odor and is best suited for items where the scent is complementary. I love foot scrubs with peppermint, rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils and any fixed oil with Rosemary Oleoresin added. I am not the type to enjoy heavily scented foot creams so it isn't like these essential oils overpower the odor of the oleoresin. We have had many requests to offer a stronger version of the Rosemary Oleoresin, so now we do. Usage rates are 0.05 to 0.5% for antioxidant uses. We have heard of doctors recommending this item for head lice treatment and the percentage of use, for this treatment, is undiluted. We aren't sure how effective this use is, but we have received more than one phone call stating "on doctor's orders" I want to purchase this item. 1 gallon weighs approximately 7.69 lbs. Carnosic acid content 5%.
Soy Butter
| |
|
INCI: Hydrogenated Soybean Oil
Soy Butter has been used in several lip balm formulations to help keep a smooth texture, and avoid the summer fractionation issues with shea butter or cocoa butter. We think it makes a great addition to a salve, lip balm, and lotion bar. The butter is firm but not hard, it is white and accepts oil soluble color easily. Lip balm recipes will be posted in our Recipes section and on our blog at blog.thesage.com The melting point of this butter is about 95 degrees F (35 degrees C). This will help make a nice meltable massage oil. Enjoy!
Coconut Milk Fragrance Oil
| |
|
Coconut has long been a favorite in the MMS Catalog. This version of coconut has a milky note to it. Don't think milk shake, think of this scent as a freshly cut coconut with a slightly sweetened vanilla milk. I could swear there is a slight pineapple note to this fragrance, but the R&D team assures me that it is all in my head. Does this mean the new Coconut Milk fragrance makes me think of relaxing on the beach with an umbrella drink? Hmmm.
Either way, this scent is summery, warm and comforting. Cold process soap will turn a dark tan to light brown with this scent.
Red Grape & Blueberry Fragrance
| |
|
With all the talk of super fruits, powerful antioxidants, and fruits in season, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to release a few fragrances inspired by these fruits.
Red Grape and Blueberry is one of my favorites. The scent is a fruity blend of grape skins, strawberry, blueberry, pineapple and honeysuckle. Base notes of tobacco, caramel and balsamic amber round out this fruity-with-a-twist scent.
Fresh, sweet but not cloying, a great scent for soaps, lotions, candles and balms.
Dragon Fruit Fragrance Oil
| |
|
Dragon fruit is a superfruit according to all the media reports. A bright red skinned fruit from a cactus, the inside can be bright red or white, variations on pink. Sometimes dragon fruit is spelled dragonfruit.
This fragrance has berry and fruity notes of raspberry, strawberry, orange, peach, green apple and is balanced with rose and jasmine. An interesting plant and a wonderful fragrance. Enjoy!
Fresh Cut Grass Fragrance Oil
| |
|
Fresh cut grass is really a wide pallet of fresh scents. There are so many things that are brought to the nose when grass is cut, we tried very hard not to leave anything out. Clover, musk, oakmoss, galbanum, sandalwood, cedar are topped with sage, basil, eucalyptus, violet and fir. This is very fresh and grassy.
Have you ever been known to put a bit of Pine-Sol in a pail of water so visitors to your home think you are cleaning? This scent is so fresh that you could spritz this fragrance on your green covered sneakers, leaving your shoes by the front door, and your guests will swear you have mowed the back lawn. Shhh! Don't tell anyone you learned this secret from me. Enjoy!
Bella Fragrance Oil
| |
|
In honor of Twilight, the Stephanie Meyers books, we are making some fragrances that are our representation of her book characters.
Bella is described as very floral smell, like lavender . . . or freesia. And Edward has noted "It's mouthwatering." To round out Bella we have notes of rose, iris, violet, and soft musk. Sexy, but also fresh and innocent. If you haven't tried the Twilight series yet, we think it is a great escape, a very good read. Enjoy!
Edward Fragrance Oil
| |
|
In honor of Twilight, the Stephanie Meyers books, we are making some fragrances that are our representation of her book characters.
Edward is described as honey, lilacs and sunshine. Our Edward inspired fragrance is fresh, clean, and sexy. We round out Stephanie Meyers description by adding a bit of vanilla, heliotrope, dry wood, and grapefruit. This is a young and sporty type scent. If you haven't read the Twilight series, or watched the movie, this sensual fragrance may entice you to become acquainted with a vampire. Enjoy!
Coconut Oil, Virgin
| |
|
INCI = Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
This certified organic oil has a wonderful, warm aroma of coconuts. This odor is great in lotions, creams, balms and just for plain old coconut oil rubs on the skin. It is yummy smelling. Coconut has long been a favorite in our fragrance oil section, now we have a real scent in the fixed oils part of our catalog. The blog group is making some cold process soap with this oil. They will let us know if the odor stays at all, or morphs. The R&D team was most concerned about lotions, lip balms, and butters when they considered this product. 16 fl oz jar weighs about .7 lbs. The remaining sizes are all sold by weight.
Acai and Mangosteen Fragrance
| |
|
Say acai like ah-saw-ee. Ah like going to the dentist, or suddenly understanding a concept. Saw like visual input or cutting, and the double E as in Dee, Andee, flee, or tree. I know this word looks weird, but we are sure you can say it now!
This fresh scent has a tangy top note of lemon and citrus fruits. The middle notes are complex and very fruity, with a few hints of white lily. The base note is sweet musk. This is not a sugary-sweet scent, it is fresh, tangy and somewhat like a sweet grapefruit. I think you will love this scent! This fragrance did not discolor cold process soap.
Honey Pear Fragrance
| |
|
A fresh green scent with notes of melons and honey. I really like this scent! I haven't always liked honey type scents, maybe because I have had the opportunity to be in a honey house at the time of extraction. WOW! That is a honey scent!! But I really like this fruity honey scent. It is really fresh. Think green apple and pear, blooming lilies and a twist of lemongrass, with honey and creamy vanilla.
The honey and vanilla notes are responsible for making cold process soap turn a Kraft paper tan.
