Goat Milk Soap
Ingredients
- 4 ounces weight Coconut Oil
- 5 ounces weight Olive Oil
- 5 ounces weight Palm Oil
- 2 ounces weight any emollient oil (like Sweet Almond Oil, Golden Jojoba Oil, etc.)
- 2.2 ounces weight Lye (sodium hydroxide)
- 7 fluid ounces Goat Milk
Equipment
Soap Bucket
Soap Spoon
Scale
Immersion Blender
Mold
Instructions
Combine milk and NaOH. Stir, stir, stir! Let rest to cool. Combine oils and heat gently. I combined when oils and lye solution were about 120 F. Stir until tracing. This is sometimes hard to do, so you can use your soapmaking-dedicated blender. Low speed for a few seconds, stop to look at it, then continue if needed.
Pour into molds. Cut when unmolded. Allow to cure 2-3 weeks. Test for pH before using.
Yield
Makes 1.25 pounds of soap.
