1 tsp Sandalwood Fragrance Oil
A few drops of lavender essential oil.
Equipment
Soap Bucket
Soap Spoon
Scale
Immersion Blender
Mold
Instructions
Combine lye and water, stirring until all lye crystals dissolve.
Combine oils and heat gently until melted. Temperatures of both should be in
the 110 F - 120 F range. (exact temps are not critical)
Combine lye solution and melted oils. Stir until the mixture reaches thin
trace and add fragrance. Continue stirring until trace is reached.
Pour the soap into your prepared molds. Check your soap in 24 to 48 hours to
see if it's firm. If it is, turn it out and cut it into bars. If it is still
soft let it stay in the molds until the outside is firm.
Set the bars out to cure and dry. Place the bars on something that will allow
them to breathe.
Allow soap to cure for 2 to 3 weeks.
Comments
I generally cut these bars larger (3&1/2" long x 2&1/2" wide x 1&1/2" high) so that they are Man-Sized. These will weigh about 5 to 5-1/2 oz. each
Yield
Makes 1.7 pounds of soap.
