Cupboard Recipe Request - Cynthia's Lemon Cuticle Butter

Over the break, Cynthia emailed me, wanting help with a recipe for a lemon cuticle butter. She wanted something similar to Lush’s Lemony Flutter. She had seen a post that Andee had done for a Special Request Orange Cuticle Butter. Also, she didn’t have everything necessary for that recipe. She sent me a list of what she had in her cupboard and we got to work. Come join us in the kitchen for fun and luscious cuticle/hand butter. You won’t want to miss out!

Recipe:

Recipe in Grams
16 grams Shea Butter
20 grams Cocoa Butter
16 grams Apricot Kernel Oil
40 grams Avocado Oil
36 grams Castor Oil
4 grams Agran Oil
20 grams Coconut Oil
12 grams Lanolin, Anhydrous
36 grams Beeswax
Recipe in Percentages
8% Shea Butter
10% Cocoa Butter
8% Apricot Kernel Oil
20% Avocado Oil
18% Castor Oil
2% Agran Oil
10% Coconut Oil
6% Lanolin, Anhydrous
18% Beeswax

Weigh everything into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until everything is liquid. If everything but the beeswax has melted, stir until it disappears. At this stage, no additional heat is required. If you are adding a fragrance or essential oil, do so now. Stir and pour the solution into small pots for use.

Cynthia, for this recipe to be lemon scented, I would use .5% to 1% of Lemon Essential Oil. Start small and add more essential oil as desired. Good luck and I hope you enjoy this recipe!
