Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Glitter Soap

I love poems, stories and song that refer to the land of milk and honey. I don’t know why. It just really talks to the romantic in me. Maybe to me the land of milk and honey means I can do as I wish all day long. Doesn’t that sound great? No bills, no work, no stress. Ahh. A world where if you want to make soap, make soap. If you want to garden, you can garden. If you want to dance, well dance. I wanted a soap that would portray all of that calm and cheerfulness.First, I knew I wanted to make a soap with our gold glitter. With the color of the glitter in mind I perused our catalog, highlight scents that seemed acceptable for the color. Finally, I came across our Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. I knew the search had come to an end. I didn’t have to look any farther. It was perfect!

I was rather surprised when I pulled out the finished soap. Instead of a bright gold color, the soap was a beautiful peach color. I fell in love. I was surprised at the color change. It didn’t have any shimmer though. I guess if I want shimmer, I will have to add the iridescent glitter. (I can’t believe to replicate this with a shimmer I will have to add over 1 tablespoon of glitter. Oh well, it will be worth it.) I took one sniff and immediately in my minds eye formed a field of golden bowing grain. The sun was setting, lighting the world in peaches, corals and tangerines. The smell of honey was thick on the air, comforting and safe. The grain whispered in the breeze and nearby a cow mooed. Wow! Can you see the world this soap transported me to? I want to stay! Come join me in the kitchen for a soap worthy of the land of milk and honey.
