Sugar Scrubs - Less is More

Sugar Scrubs - Less is More

I started my soap, lotion, lip balm and scrub making journey several years ago and I have shared many of my successes and my failures with our readers. With all of them, I am able to look back and laugh. Especially regarding my failures. I have done some doozies! I really appreciate being able to look back and see how much I have grown and how much more skill and experience I have today. (I even like having the photographic evidence, though that wasn’t always the case!)

My finished scrub in a 1 oz jar.

My finished scrub in a 1 oz jar.

I also like going back to some of my earlier recipes and realizing that I did such an excellent job in creating the recipe. For a while, I certainly had a point where I wanted to add nearly every single luxury oil to my recipes. Every. Single. Recipe. It took realizing that I didn’t have an unlimited budget and realizing that sometimes, keeping a recipe simple can create some of the most exquisite results. By keeping the ingredient list simple and short, you allow each of them a spotlight they might otherwise not enjoy.

Today I want to showcase a recipe where a less complicated ingredient listing will make for a show-stopping sugar scrub. Let the quality of your ingredients speak for themselves. You will find they are able to shout loud and clear when the recipe is kept simple.

Why is the scrub show-stopping? This scrub has a creamy feeling application thanks to the lightweight Sunflower Oil. The Polysorbate 80 helps the skin feel dewy after using without letting the skin feel extremely oily. Once you’ve finished using this scrub, you will step out of the shower feeling like a whole new person.
