Orange Butter Lip Balm

I love strawberries. I remember as a child riding down the sidewalk from our house to the next door neighbor. They had about a 3 foot slope down from their lawn down to the sidewalk. That slope, instead of being covered in grass, harbored strawberries. I remember heading over to graze with our dog. We would go back home with about 5 strawberries, stained clothes and fur. I remember presenting the few strawberries we brought back to my mother while the dog and I licked our chops. LOL. Those were the days.
Even now, I adore strawberries. I love to eat fresh strawberries with homemade whipped cream. Yum. Forget the Angel Food-cake… pass those strawberries! When I had to select a fragrance to go with the bright Bellydance Pink Glitter, I knew it would be Wild Strawberry. Come join me a wild, yummy, sparkly and exotic soap! If I had to make this soap again, I might halve the amount of glitter and add some Amethyst Pink color. I might even top it with some seeds. What would you do for this Wild Strawberry soap? Recipe:
Weigh all of the oils into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until liquid. Add the lye to the water to for a lye solution. Mix the oils and lye solution and blend until a light trace is achieved. Add the Wild Strawberry Fragrance Oil and Belly Dance Pink Glitter and mix well. Pour into a mold and allow to sit for 24 hours. Cut the soap. Allow the soap to cure. Longer curing time will result in a harder bar. Enjoy! |
