Melt and Pour Soap
Orchids & Cream Soap

    Date : 2004-08-18

This recipe appeared in our ad in the August/September 2004 issue of Herb Companion.

2 lbs Goat Milk Glycerin Soap
1 Tbsp Ground Vanilla Bean Specks
up to 2-1/2 tsp Vanilla Cream Fragrance Oil

      Microwave safe bowl
      Soap Spoon
      Molds or clamshells

Cut soap into smaller pieces from the block. One inch cubes work well. Melt soap, stirring frequently while soap is melting. We most often use a microwave but you may use a double boiler on the stove. Use caution to avoid overheating of the soap. Once soap is melted stir in ground vanilla bean specks and fragrance. Pour into molds. Allow to cool. Label for use.

This soap is a simple recipe and just the beginning of what can be done with melt and pour soap. Enjoy!

UPDATE: You may use the Melt and Pour Soap Base in the pails to make this soap. We suggest adding 1/4 cup liquid Goat Milk and 2 tsp Titanium Dioxide to the mixture above. This will help replicate the Goat Milk Soap we once had in our catalog.

2 lbs of soap, number of bars is determined by weight of each bar.
