How to Make a Retro Red Lip Tint

Label made by Shayla in our Graphics Department

Label made by Shayla in our Graphics Department

Today I want to demonstrate how to make a simple red lip tint. I love the color that this product leaves on my lips. This is made using our extra firm Soy Lip Solutions. The solid form soy oil makes a long lasting lip balm when combined with castor oil, beeswax, cocoa butter and shea butter. After I made this lip balm it seemed all of my friends wanted to try it! Plus, it is so easy to make. Check it out!

Recipe Note:
Q.S. means quantity sufficient. The amount of color varies from person to person until you find the amount you like. Some of the colors in this need so little that it can be difficult to weigh the amount needed! So we use Q.S. to say use as much as you need to achieve the right color, flavor, etc.

To achieve this Retro Red Color I did 8 parts Ruby Lip Balm Color, 3 parts Yellow Lip Balm Color, and 1 part White Lip Balm Color. To make this lip tint you will just need to microwave your jar of Lip Solutions until it is completely melted. Then add the colors and a flavor oil, if you desire. Label and enjoy!
