Introduction
I have found through teaching classes and doing a variety of different workshops that people are very divided when it comes to salt scrubs. They either prefer the oily gooey ones or the paste variety. I have created two different recipes, \'Spa-erific\' is a spa style scrub, it has an oily texture much like many of the commercial brands that I'm sure many of you are familiar with. Plum Wild is my second version, it has a much more solid feel to it similar to a type of body scrub paste. Hope you enjoy them.
This was made on the blog on March 16th, 2011.
Ingredients
.50 lb Fine Dead Sea Salt
3 ounces colorless jojoba oil
1 ounces sunflower oil
(These two oils and their amounts can be interchanged to cut costs.)
2 ounces Melt and Pour Soap Base (I use transparent, melt this prior to adding it to the other ingredients.)
1 ml Lemon Zinger Fragrance Oil
1/2 ml Pixie Dust Fragrance Oil
1/2 ml Red Currant Fragrance Oil
Equipment
Measure your ingredients into a large enough container to allow for adequate stirring. I like to use an 87 ounces bucket. After your ingredients have been weighed into bucket in the above order, mix thoroughly and transfer into desired containers.
Comments
This is a more viscous salt scrub it's not as oily and drippy as the Spa-erific salt recipe. This recipe filled approximately 2-4 ounce and 1-2 ounce dome cosmetic jars.
Enjoy!
