INCI: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder
Our beautiful matcha green tea powder makes a great additive to your favorite soap! While the green color is not UV-stable in finished bars of soap, it adds label appeal and mild exfoliation to the soap.
Soaps can range from a pale green to an earthy green color, but the more light exposure they receive, the faster the soap color will fade.
We recommend starting at 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder per pound of fats and increasing if desired. We have heard of soapmakers using up to 2 tablespoons of powder per pound of fats.
You can infuse this plant powder into any oil and extract the oil-soluble color compounds. Then use the infusion as an additive to your soaps, lotions, or lip balms!
