Orange Butter Lip Balm

I love chocolate. Dark and bitter or sweet and milky. Today you can buy so many flavor combinations with chocolate, it is crazy. Chili peppers, almonds, macadamia nuts, cashews, caramel, toffee, coffee, cherries, blueberries, goji berries, green tea and more! It can be overwhelming to buy a chocolate bar. One of the crazier combinations that I have fallen in love with is a chocolate bar with bacon and a touch of sea salt. Talk about yummy! Today I wanted to make a lip scrub that tastes much like this curious combination. Come join me!
Having grown up in Utah, I wanted to really showcase a unique product that comes from Utah. That is salt. If you have ever used salt that was harvested from Utah you are familiar with its unusual coloring. It is a soft peachy/white color with flecks of darker red throughout. It also has what is often described as having a sweeter flavor instead of the more bitter notes that iodized table salt can have. I wanted to use this salt today for the color and the exotic feeling it lends while still being a local product! The flavor of this finished lip scrub is perfect! When I was making it, I worried that I had too much salt or that I didn’t have enough. It is so good, many of the pickier staff members have snagged a jar to keep in their pockets. My own sample that was taken home was enjoyed by the dog. Sigh… I have managed to keep about 30 to send to shipping for you to try! Request one in your order!
Recipe:
Weigh the Chocolate Bacon Flavor Wax, Avocado Butter and Peach Kernel Oil into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until liquid. In a separate container mix the sugar and salt, making sure they are distributed evenly. Add the salt/sugar mixture and Vitamin E Acetate to the melted oils. Stir well. Put into jars or pots for use. Enjoy! |
