Coffee Soap

Ingredients:

    8 oz wt Canola Oil
    8 oz wt Coconut Oil
    8 oz wt Olive Oil
8 oz wt Hydrogenated Soybean Oil (Crisco)
    12 fl oz Water
4.5 oz wt Lye (sodium hydroxide)

Instructions:

Brew triple strength coffee, and use it in place of the water. Add 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds at trace. This soap is a dark brown color and the coffee scent does diminish over time.

Notes & Comments:

I made this as a test batch, not knowing if it would indeed remove odors of garlic and onion from my hands. I keep it in the kitchen and use it after cooking. It does work!

My DH got gasoline on his hands, washed up with brand X soap, and the smell remained. He wondered what would remove the gasoline smell. I handed him Coffee Soap and it worked on that too!
