Finished Cool as a Cucumber Lotion

Summer time is just around the corner, and let me tell ya, I AM SO EXCITED! I love the warm weather and good times that the summer brings. So with that I came up with a nice, cool, summer time lotion. This Cool as a Cucumber Lotion is very moisturizing and smells amazing, too. This lotion is not too thick, it goes on nicely without making the skin feel greasy. Keep reading for the recipe!

After heating my mixture and adding fragrance oil and preservative

To make this lotion, I weighed all of my ingredients except for the Liquid Germall Plus and the fragrance oil into a microwave safe container. Then microwaved it until the stearic acid was completely melted. Please make sure it really is all the way melted! I’ve made that mistake before and it is not a fun one. Once everything is heated it is best to stir it using an immersion blender. Stir until no oil rises to the top and everything looks fully mixed. The lotion must cool to under 120° F, once it is cooled you may add the preservative and the fragrance oil. Pipe your cooled lotion into the container of your choice. Label and enjoy! Please check back in tomorrow for the Cool as a Cucumber Gardener’s Hand Scrub.
