Halloween Candy Inspired Bath Salts

There are only a few more days left until Halloween! I don’t know what you have planned for Saturday morning, but I’m considering locking myself in the bathroom with a collection of Halloween spa treats and pampering myself. Then I will be refreshed, beautified uglified and ready for a hoard of trick-or-treaters! Join me for perfect spa treat!

Today, I’m pulling a staff favorite out of the archives. In 2012, I wrote a post about Halloween Foaming Layered Bath Salts and our team loved them. Last week we got together and made a large batch of bath salts inspired by that very post! We made changes and you will find these bath salts so fun and easy to make that you will be able to make some right now.

Ingredients Medium Bath Salt Frosted Cupcakes Fragrance Oil Lemon Sugar type Fragrance Oil Red Clover Tea Fragrance Oil Red Color Spray made with Purple Raspberry Color and water* Yellow Color Spray made with Lemon Yellow Color and water*

Recipe: (makes 450 grams or 16 ounces)

Recipe in Grams 445.5 grams Medium Bath Salts 4.5 grams Halloween Treats Fragrance Blend Q.S. Premixed Color of Choice

Recipe in Ounces 15.84 ounces Medium Bath Salts 0.16 ounces Halloween Treats Fragrance Blend Q.S. Premixed Color of Choice

Halloween Treats Fragrance Blend in Percentages 50% Frosted Cupcakes Fragrance Oil 33% Lemon Sugar type Fragrance Oil 17% Red Clover Tea Fragrance Oil

* The premixed colors were made by mixing 1/2 tsp of dry dye colorant with 2 ounces of water in a 2 oz bottle with a spray head. After the color was mixed, I used this to makes the salts my desired color.

Weigh all salt into your desired mixing container. Add the fragrance blend and mix thoroughly. Divide the mixture into three equal portions in plastic bags. Leave one portion white and set aside.

Using a spray bottle filled with premixed color of yellow, spritz another portion several times. I usually spritz about 5 times and then knead the bag to completely mix the color with the bath salts mixture. This will prevent some of the salt from being over colored. I will repeat the spritzing process as many times as it takes me to have the salts colored to the desired point. Once the salt is colored to your desired point, set the bag of yellow salt aside and repeat on the last portion with the red and yellow colors to make an orange colored mixture.

Now you can bottle or bag as you desire. We put ours in the 1 oz Cylinder bottles. These bottles make super cute gift sized bath salts for kids and adults! You can also make a larger size and use the Bath Salt Tubes. Wouldn’t these be adorable with a black cap?
