Bonnie's Hand Cream

I really like getting my inspiration from old recipes. I think it is amazing to see how far we have come in the world of science and the contrast of how much things stay the same. Some ingredients are more popular than others, but the principle is still the same.

I made this cream to match Clyde’s Shaving Soap. After all, where Clyde goes, shouldn’t Bonnie follow? I used the same fragrance oil blend that I created just for this project. This fragrance blend is earthy, smokey, with hints of floral. It is so good, you might even think you can smell a hint of gunpowder. Come join me in the Blog Kitchen for some fun!

RECIPE

Percentages

1.8% Beeswax
1.8% Palm Oil
0.9% Lanolin
7% Sweet Almond Oil
3.5% Coconut Oil
5% Emulsifying Wax
79.5% Water
0.5%Liquid Germall Plus
Q.S. Bergamot and Tobacco Fragrance Oil
Q.S. Earth Fragrance Oil
Q.S. Jacob Fragrance Oil

INSTRUCTIONS

Weigh all of the ingredients except Liquid Germall Plus and fragrances into a microwaveable container. Heat until all of the ingredients are melted.

Using an immersion blender, mix until blended. Allow the solution to cool to 120 degrees F before adding the preservative and fragrance oils.

Stir occasionally while waiting for the mixture to cool. You do not want your lotion to separate. If you wish to add any color, now would be the time. Mix the preservative into the lotion until well blended. A

llow the lotion to cool to room temperature. You may now put the lotion into containers.
