This week is dedicated to feet! The cold, winter months are still hanging around, and despite being indoors, we can find ourselves on our feet all day. Nothing feels better than tearing off those dirty socks and kicking up your feet! I am going to share some recipes this week that will leave your feet feeling smooth and smelling lovely.
All the recipes I will share with you this week are going to contain the same three essential oils: Tea Tree, Peppermint, and Rosemary. There are many folklore stories and claims that these three essential oils can treat many issues. I’m not going to dig into those claims this week, so the product recipes that I’m sharing with you will remain as cosmetics instead of drugs. If you would like to learn more about keeping your products as cosmetics instead of drugs, we recommend adding Soap & Cosmetic Labeling by Marie Gale to your library.
I loved the herbaceous and refreshing scent of this blend. I’m convinced that you cannot go wrong with this combination!
We’ll kick off this foot week with an invigorating foot soak.
For this foot soak, I added some Epsom Salt, because I needed a carrier for the essential oils, and Epsom Salts are magnesium which has been attributed to helping the skin and body heal itself. I added the Hydrovance as a humectant, and humectants work by assisting our skin by holding a lot of moisture, making it feel soft and supple.

This soak is so simple to make. First, weigh all the ingredients. I weighed my ingredients into a glass beaker then dumped them into a bag for mixing. The bag makes it easier to blend, but it can be challenging to get the bag to stay upright on the scale, so that is why I used the beaker for measuring. Once all your ingredients are in your bag, close the top and shake, shake, shake! I had a bit of a hard time with my oils clumping up in my mixture, so I put on some gloves and used my hand to break apart the clumps.
I thought it would be cute to package these in our 3 x 5 Flat Cellophane Bags. We had tons of ribbon lying around, so I used that to seal the bags. Each bag we are sending out is enough material for one good foot soaking.
Instructions: Using a plastic tub or bowl, fill with hot water, add the foot soak, and allow your feet to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove your feet and dry thoroughly.
