The Quest for The Perfect Cuticle Jelly

The Quest for The Perfect Cuticle Jelly

When first making a new recipe it is always best to make a test batch. I’ve learned this the hard way. Being super impatient has caused me to skip making a test batch multiple times and it is the worst when I make a ton of something, and I don’t even like it.

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been working on trying to formulate The Perfect Cuticle Jelly. It can be so discouraging to make something and have it not turn out the way it was intended. After making 3 test batches I finally made what I had been hoping for. The first two batches came out great, but I felt they were more of a liquid rather than a jelly. There is nothing wrong with my test batches, in fact I think they would make a great cuticle oil that could go in a Lip Brush Pens. Recipe #1 was just too liquid. When dispensing a lot came out at one time which made a mess! Recipe #2 was slightly thicker than recipe #1 but still did not have that jelly-like texture that I was looking for.

Today I will share the recipes for the first two batches I made. I made only a slight change by adding a little bit more butter to try to make the cuticle jelly thicker. Each recipe below will make about 8 ounces or 226 grams.

These recipes are super easy to make! Weigh out all of the ingredients except for the extracts and the fragrance oil, these will be added after the mixture has been heated. Heat the oils in the microwave, stirring occasionally. Once everything is melted, you can add the remaining ingredients. You could use any fragrance oil you desire, I chose Black Raspberry because it smells absolutely delicious. Now it’s ready to pour into the container of your choosing. I used our 1/4 oz dropper bottles.

Tune in tomorrow, and I will share with you the recipe for The Perfect Cuticle Jelly!
