The Greatest Peach Body Cream

The Greatest Peach Body Cream

Filled jars of cooled Peach Body Cream.

Filled jars of cooled Peach Body Cream.

When I have about 20-30 minutes available to play in the blog kitchen, I love to make lotions. It is a fun and quick project that replenishes my lotion & creams stash, allows me to help make sure my “guinea pig” (one of our programmers) has moisturized arms, and permits me to make what suits my needs at the moment.

I decided to make this body cream that isn’t exactly what I’d call light or medium weight, but more of an in-between weight. It has a slight drag from the Stearic Acid and Cocoa Butter, but doesn’t make my skin feel like it is smothered.

Did you know Peach Fragrance has been in our catalog for 19 years? It is a winner with a long history of success. Before we know it – we will be in peach season!

Join me in the kitchen for a quick batch of body cream that will feel fabulous on arms, elbows, legs, knees and feet! I think you will enjoy the greatest peach body cream as much as I do.

Q.S. means quantity sufficient. I added a few drops of a premixed color until I felt there was enough color to give the body cream a pretty peach tint. To get my premixed color, I mixed the Purple Raspberry and Lemon Yellow in water to get my orange/peach color. I used 2 parts Purple Raspberry and 3 parts Lemon Yellow.

Weigh everything except the Liquid Germall Plus, Peach Fragrance and premixed color into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until the oils and waxes are liquid. Using an immersion blender, stir the mixture well. We don’t want the cream to separate on us! Once the cream is below 120°F, add the Liquid Germall Plus, Peach Fragrance and premixed color. At this point, I like to pour the cream into a plastic bag and allow it to finish cooling in the bag.

After microwaving the ingredients, I'm ready to blend.

After the cream has completely cooled, I cut a small tip off one corner of the bag so I can easily pipe the cream into jars. (I also get to make pretty swirls as I’m piping because I’m pretending to frost cupcakes!) After the jars are filled, cap the jars and label. You now have a jar of the greatest peach lotion!

Notes: This cream has a nice feel on the skin with a slight waxy feel that quickly goes away. Our shipping team loved the feel on their arms, but said they wouldn’t apply right before packing boxes or handling paper. The Cocoa Butter adds such a minimal amount of scent, so feel free to scent with any fragrance or essential oil.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
